EMECO
FORTYFOUR RADIO

This project resulted from a branding brief, which asked to design a radio for the furniture brand Emeco. This required a careful analysis and decoding of the brand’s values and design language, which could then be translated into a radio.

The final radio design encompasses Emeco's stoic character, which is defined by timeless and sober forms. It also embraces Emeco's signature material, Aluminium, as well as their unconventional choice of eco-friendly materials (from post-consumer waste), with an element of eco-concrete.

Emeco’s design language is marked by simple forms, clean lines and an industrial-chic and timeless appearance. Subtle contrast is achieved through different finishes and by juxtaposing materials - their signature material, aluminium - with wood or recycled plastic, which is sourced from post-consumer and post-industrial waste.
